SavingStar Makes Changes

savingstarDid you see this week’s SavingStar update in your INBOX? Although SavingStar is making changes, we still get cash back on the purchase of specific grocery purchases! I love saving and earning cash back on fresh produce so I’m glad that the healthy Tuesday offers are not going away! Freebie Fridays, I believe they are here to stay too! This is what SavingStar noted in an email, I received:

“The way you save at Kroger-owned stores will soon change. Starting October 1, Kroger will transition from an “automatic” (loyalty card) retailer and instead participate as a receipt-scanning retailer. This means that you will redeem SavingStar offers at all Kroger-owned stores by submitting a picture of your receipt instead of linking SavingStar offers to their loyalty card. This change impacts all Kroger-owned stores, including: Kroger, Dillons, Baker’s, Gerbes, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, JayC, King Soopers, City Market, PayLess, Owen’s, QFC, Ralphs, and Smith’s. This was a corporate decision made by Kroger.

All SavingStar offers redeemed at Kroger-owned stores using your loyalty card must take place by September 30 (rewards will post to your account on or before October 9). Starting October 1, all redemptions will be credited when you submit a picture of your receipt, either through the SavingStar app or SavingStar.com”

The GREAT news is that the SavingStar app is super easy to use. Loading our receipts is one more step but not hard to do. Make sure you click on the offers first though.

How will SavingStar offers work with this new change!?! Use the app or website. Click on the offers you want. Shop for them at specific SavingStar stores. When you purchase your products at the store, keep your receipts. You will pay full price for the item/offers you selected. Then, you will scan in your receipt from your phone to submit it. In a few days your SavingStar account will be credited the amount of the purchase price if you were getting a FREE item (100% back) and/or the savings amount noted with the specific SavingStar offer. Once you reach $5 with SavingStar, you can cash!
