This image of Greek yogurt in a ceramic bowl with the blue & white towel takes me (Litsa) back to the village. Add a swirl of honey and I’d definitely find myself sitting at a local tavern in the mountains of Greece!?!

Greek yogurt is my go to protein snack—and sometimes my meal here in West Tennessee too!

However, I’ve never thought of it as a snack to power my workouts!?!

While reading May’s Prevention Magazine today, I read that fitness trainer Michelle Lovitt recommends this power workout food along with almonds & cinnamon!

almondsShe’s noted saying that “Greek-style yogurt topped with a handful of almonds and a teaspoon of cinnamon, eaten about an hour before exercise. The yogurt is high in protein—so you’ll have some on board to help rebuild muscle post-workout-and contains probiotics to counteract bloating. The monounsaturated fat in almonds staves off hunger, and the naturally sweet cinnamon ups your sensitivity to insulin, so you’ll store less belly fat.”

Sounds great to me! Lovitt didn’t recommend a Greek yogurt but I’d say that FAGE is the best go to yogurt that leaves out extra additives and packs in the protein! So grab, your power workout snack—and get moving this week!
