This recipe is packed with flavor and inexpensive to make. What I love about this recipe is I was able to use ingredients from my stockpile! The rice and canned tomatoes I got for free after coupons. The bell pepper was from my garden- last of the bunch. Back in September I took a whirlwind trip to Wisconsin to meet with the wonderful people from Johnsonville Sausage. I am so excited to tell you about the Blog for a Cause event that will be launching later this week!
Tips
- This recipe is easily adaptable. Use whatever vegetables you have on hand. If you don’t have the Mahatma Yellow Rice try brown rice or another rice mixture.
- Try different varieties of sausage.
- Add Parmesan cheese for a little extra flavor.
This recipe is based on a recipe I found on the Johnsonville website. There is also a Johnsonville Chicken Sausage coupon on their site!
Disclosure: I was sent some Johnsonville sausage to try. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions expressed are mine.
