How Are You Preparing for Spring’s Arrival?

Buds on the trees, greener patches of clover, green grass regrowth, birds chirping……..all of these images and sounds are signs of spring’s upcoming arrival. How are you preparing for Spring this year? Do you make a list of items you need for your yard, garden, patio, etc. or do you visit Lowe’s and Home Depot stores tossing in what you think you might need? Does your list and preferences match your spouse’s ideals? Or is battle of the sexes among the two of you?

Recently, when a copy of Lee Valley’s catalog arrived in our mailbox, I sat down and browsed the new items from their garden catalog. I was intrigued by the fabric pots (shown above) and these Radio Junior Spade & Rakes (shown below). Immediately, I wanted to place them in my shopping cart and have them arrive at my door. It was then that I stopped and flagged these “wants” for our home’s spring shopping list.

As March draws nearer and brings closure to winter, I’ll contemplate my spring wishlist a little more feverishly! However, I discovered that with each pop of color and bloom, I’m eager to shop! Thus, as a smart consumer, I know that this year I will make a personal spring shopping list, share it with my husband and get his input, and then head to our local Lowe’s for our items that will be part of a planned shopping list. Then, as our budget allows, we’ll shop from our favorite home catalogs where these SPRING “WANTS” lay waiting!
