A few weeks ago I asked the How to Have it All Facebook crew about home remedies for bee stings. The unique answers for intriguing! Capt. M, Mr. B and myself have all had yellow jacket or bee stings within the last few weeks. I thought it would be helpful to share the home remedies with you!
Some idea for bee sting home remedies:
- Baking soda and water or vinegar mixed into a paste
- Meat tenderizer and water mixed into a paste
- Honey
- Slice from a garlic clove
- Crushed aspirin made into a paste
What we have been using is baking soda and vinegar paste. This idea came from my uncle who has been using it for years to aid in bug bite relief. My mom had huge welts from bug bites this spring and the only thing that helped was the baking soda and vinegar paste. Just mix a small amount of the baking soda and the vinegar. It will foam up. Use gauze or an ace bandage to hold the paste in place.
The baking soda and vinegar paste worked great for me and Capt. M. Mr. B received the garlic treatment due to the locked out of the condo scenario and having nothing else on hand. His continuing scream, told us that the garlic didn’t work too great!
