Everyday last week, I said, “No…no…no…stairs….” But then I read Natural Health’s Jan./Feb. 2013 issue and I’ve reconsidered them this week…..
“In Full Force: You might think that the harder you work out, the hungrier you’ll be afterward, but a study in the International Journal of Obesity suggest the opposite is true. People who completed 30 minutes of very high-intensity exercise, like running up stairs, consumed 116 fewer calories at their next meal than those who finished a moderate half-hour session. Researchers think that it’s because a vigorous workout suppresses the hunger-stimulating hormone ghrelin while increasing the levels of lactic acid and glucose in the bloodstream, which could help curtail noshing.”
Motivated!?! I (Litsa) am! I’m taking to the stairs this week…two songs…three songs…four! It might not get easier, but I WILL get better—stronger!
High intensity exercise rocks—burns calories…….or………what will work for you in 2014!?! You won’t know until you TRY! Let’s MOVE!!
