Happy 6th Birthday Capt. M

It is hard to believe that my oldest child is 6 years old today! I spent yesterday reflecting on the hours leading up to his birth. Time goes so quickly. It seems like it was a short time ago that hubby and I were making the long 30 minute drive to the hospital! Fast forward six years and we have a young man in first grade!

Capt. M has really come out of his shell this year. He is still somewhat shy, although he is becoming a lot more social. We have received three notes home from his teacher that he was talking in class. What? Are you sure we are talking about the correct child? The one who didn’t say hardly anything the whole kindergarten year? Yes, he has made friends and gained confidence in himself. Just last week at soccer practice he was swaggering down the field and yelled out hi to an acquaintance. The other mom and I were completely shocked at his confidence!

Capt. M is sensitive, thoughtful, strong willed, determined, athletic and funny. He is a caring big brother, often crying when Mr. B gets in trouble! His personality is much like mine. In fact it is almost scary at times to see a little me.

We love you Capt. M and can’t wait to celebrate your big day!
