Foam rollers are great for improving circulation, self massage and for balance exercises. I started using a roller about a year ago to help stretch my muscles and fascia. Your body weight is used to help apply pressure as you roll across the high density foam roller.
There are a variety of foam rollers available from really inexpensive ones like the above Black High Density Foam Rollers starting at $8 to the higher priced Trigger Point System ($57) that I use.
If you are looking for a gift idea for someone who is into fitness, consider a foam roller! I would highly recommend one for yourself too!
