One way to earn a little extra cash is to send in for rebates. One of the problems I have had with rebates is remembering to mail them in! Here are a few tips for keeping track of rebates.
- Fill out the rebate form and gather the necessary items (UPC code and receipt) as soon as you get home from the store. I found that if I wait, I am likely to forget about the rebate.
- Make a copy of your rebate form and the receipt. It is nice to have a copy of everything in case the money never shows up. Most rebates take 6-8 weeks. After that time, you can contact the company to find out where your rebate is.
- Don’t purchase an item for a rebate unless you have the money to front the deal. Remember it takes several weeks for the rebate money to arrive.
- Save your receipts. You never know when you will come across a rebate.
- A great place to find rebate forms in grocery stores is the wine and beer department. Some of the rebate forms do not require an alcohol purchase.
- Check out Coupons Deals and More for a huge list of current printable rebates.
