Even when I am stressed and burned out, I try to take time each day to be thankful. I am blessed with two beautiful boys, a caring husband, a home, a job, friends, family and so much more. I am a worrier by nature and tend to get stressed easily. However, I try to put my small issues into perspective as I know other people have a lot more challenges ahead.
Schwan’s Home Service is kicking off a new campaign called “Open the Door to Thankful”. Each time someone shares a few words about something for which they are thankful on the Schwan’s™ Facebook app, Schwan’s Home Service will donate five meals* to Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization.
“Sometimes, instead of feeling grateful for the important people or things in our lives, we take them for granted,” said Mike Gerend, president, Schwan’s Home Service. “Now, we invite people everywhere to take the time to stop and remember something for which they are thankful, share it, and, in the process, join us to help solve hunger.”
To make things even more exciting, every Thursday during the campaign, until October 10, the meal donation for each “thankful” shared by consumers will be doubled to 10 meals to honor “Thankful Thursday.
So what are you waiting for? Get started sharing what you are thankful for and help a good cause at the same time!
*Up to 500,000 donated meals. $1 helps provide 9 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local food banks. Maximum donation of $55,555.”
And I certainly can’t mention Schwan’s without mentioning their food!
If you haven’t tried Schwan’s Home Service before let me share a couple of products with you.
Hubby normally makes homemade pancakes on the weekends. On school mornings there just isn’t enough time. Schwan’s sent me some Mini Buttermilk Pancakes to try. These are so good! They heat up in just a few seconds in the microwave.
Mr. B approves of these mini pancakes! He asked for seconds!
Another new option is the Lasagna Roll-Ups. These are individually packaged and made with five different cheeses. I was a bit surprised that they didn’t come with sauce. However, these are super convenient for nights when I am not home and hubby needs to “cook”. They also have no preservatives and I can read all of the ingredients on the list- yeah!
Oh, if you haven’t had Schwan’s ice cream, it is soooo good! Hubby’s brother keeps his freezer stocked with Schwan’s ice cream sandwiches and bars. When we go over for a visit, we raid the freezer!!!
