Tornado DamageThe Birmingham News/Carol Robinson

As the nightly news reports on the tornado damage in the South, I sit here completely overwhelmed and with goose bumps. I am in awe of the power of nature. My friend Kristen at Couponing to Disney lives in Alabama. Her town was hit with several tornados yesterday with people losing homes, cars and businesses.

I know that many of us can’t afford to donate money. The great thing about being a couponer is we have access to everyday products which are in high demand. Kristen’s church is collecting items such as:

toothpaste
toothbrushes
shampoo
conditioner
soap
deodorant
dishwashing soap
laundry detergent
hand sanitizer
clothing in all sizes
shoes in all sizes
blankets
small toys for displaced children
ziploc bags
bandaids and other first aid products
femine products
baby formula
diapers
baby food
toilet paper
Kleenex
food
individual juices
pet food and treats
etc

They will gladly take anything that you are willing to send. Use a flat rate box at the post office for the best price on postage.

You can mail your donations to Kristen’s church. They will ensure they get into the right hands.

Other places to donate:

Alabama was hit the hardest but there are other states that suffered damage and loss of life too- including Virginia. I am sure there are other donation centers being set up.

You can send a monetary donation to:

Salvation Army Disaster Relief
PO Box 100339
Atlanta, GA 30384-0339

Red Cross is taking text donations. Just text text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to donate $10.

Christie with the Birmignham News is also keeping a master list of donation centers for these victims.
