Yeah, Spring is finally here!
As the weather warms and you spend more time outside, remember to apply sunscreen. I couple of weeks ago I got a pretty bad sunburn since I forgot the sunscreen. It was only in the mid 60’s but the sun was strong and my skin is pasty white currently. One thing I suggest is to use a facial moisturizer with sunscreen. I have done this for years and luckily my face did not burn- just my arms.
Along with the warm weather comes bugs. We live in an area that has a high amount of ticks. Remember to place a flea and tick deterrent on your animals. For my animals I use Frontline in the spray form since they are all different weights. The spray works the same as the little capsules but it is cheaper when you have different size pets.
Also, make sure to check your kiddos thoroughly every day. I always tell my boys not to play in the leaves and to stay out of the woods. Even with that, they still end getting ticks. There are a lot of tick born illnesses so it is definitely something to keep an eye on.
And don’t forget about mosquitos! Mr. B and I have horrible reactions to mosquito bites. On the other hand Capt. M and hubby hardly get any mosquito bites. I like to use the Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard and the Off! Clip On. Even with both products, those little suckers still seem to find me!
Are you armed with sunscreen and bug spray? Any tips for keeping the critters away?

Just a pet-peeve of mine: Mothers that apply spray-on sunscreen 2 seconds before their kid jumps into a pool.
Seriously? This can’t possibly be effective.
I have been under the impression that sunscreen makers want you to apply 20 mins before sun exposure. I will either apply when I’m getting the kids dressed…or when they are getting INTO the car on our way to a playground or whereever. I might re-apply later, but at least I got them before I was too distracted to remember.
Hi Debi,
Yes, you are right! Sunscreen should be applied about 20 minutes before sun exposure. I usually put sunscreen on everyone before we leave the house. I find it easier to put it on the kids before they get dressed- make sure to cover all the areas that way!
