Couponing is in the spotlight this year. With the recent TLC Extreme Couponing program, there has been a surge of people wanting to learn how to use coupons. Unfortunately the program did not give any resources on how to get started with coupons. I am going to start a couponing for beginners series to provide a resource for all of you!
Where to Find Coupons:
- Sunday Paper Coupon Inserts – coupons vary per region; check out the Sunday Coupon Insert Schedule for 2011.
- Printable Coupons – available at Coupons.com, Smartsource, RedPlum and Cool Savings. Make sure to look at manufacturers websites too.
- Facebook – Facebook has become a huge source of high value coupons and freebies over the last year. Make sure you follow your favorite brands on facebook and while you are there “Like” How to Have it All too!
- Magazines – One of the best magazines to buy is All You. It available at Walmart or by subscription only. Most months you will find $55-$90 worth of manufacturers coupons in All You along with savings tips and recipes.
- Tearpad and Blinkie Coupons – At the store look for tearpads on displays, little machines with blinking lights (Blinkie), products with sticky coupons and magazines. I am always on the lookout for coupons throughout the store. Make sure you check the bear and wine section too- you may find rebates and coupons with no alcohol purchase required.
- Coupon Clipping Services – Clipping services will send you coupons already clipped! It is a time saver plus you can get coupons from different areas of the country.
* The Coupon Clippers
* My Coupon Hunter
* Ebay
* The Q Hunter
- Digital Coupons – Some stores like Kroger allow you to load digital coupons directly to your shoppers card. Load coupons at Cellfire and Shortcuts. Another way to save is with Upromise eCoupons– you won’t save money off your total bill but you will get money deposited into a college savings account.
- Friends, Neighbors & Co-Workers – Let everyone know that you use coupons. Many people will bring you their Sunday Coupon Inserts if they don’t use them.
Sometimes you will find coupons in unexpected places! My kids and I are constantly on the look at for coupons- like a treasure hunt! Where do you find your coupons?
